A “danger close” airstrike on top of an Islamic State fighting positions ends a lengthy gun battle between the Kurdish YPG and Arab Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) alliance and ISIS. The fighting took place in Syria, near the recently liberated Tishrin Dam. The first airstrike makes a direct impact on a mountain top several hundred meters from the Kurds, but follow up strikes land in the foreground, sending shrapnel and debris over the heads of the Western-backed fighters.
